Discover the beauty of northern Morocco on this 5-day, 4-night tour starting in Tangier. Begin with a visit to Cape Spartel and the famous Hercules Cave, before crossing the Rif Mountains to the charming blue city of Chefchaouen. Continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, followed by a tour of Fes and Meknes, two imperial cities full of history and culture.
Next, explore Rabat, Morocco’s capital, with its stunning landmarks, and end the tour in Casablanca, home to the iconic Hassan II Mosque. This tour offers a perfect mix of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes, leaving you with lasting memories of northern Morocco.
On the first day of your 5-day tour in Northern Morocco, we will pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, also known as "the bride of the north." Located at the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel, this city offers stunning views. We’ll begin by exploring Tangier, visiting the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel. Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch. Then, we drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the beautiful Rif Mountains. We’ll make stops along the way for panoramic views. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, we’ll take a tour of Chefchaouen, also known as Achaoun in Berber, meaning "horns." This charming city in the Rif Mountains is famous for its blue-painted buildings and alleys. We will stroll through the city’s old Medina, capturing the beauty of the authentic blue doors and picturesque streets. After some free time for lunch, we’ll head up to the Spanish Mosque. From this vantage point, you’ll be able to take in stunning views of the entire blue city. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel for the night.
After breakfast, feel free to explore more of Chefchaouen’s beautiful alleyways before we head out to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. This UNESCO World Heritage site is remarkably well-preserved, showcasing beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways. After exploring the ruins, we continue 30 km to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In Meknes, we’ll visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we head to Fes, where we’ll stay overnight in a riad.
After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to explore this iconic imperial city, known as Morocco’s cultural and religious center. The day starts with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a walk through the medieval Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will enter through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud) and explore the maze-like streets of the old Medina with a local guide. You will visit key sites such as Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University—the oldest university in the world. Afterward, we’ll visit the Jewish quarter or Mellah. Finally, we’ll drive to an ancient fortress for panoramic views of both the Medina and the city of Fes. We’ll then return to your riad for the night.
On the final day of your 5-day tour of Northern Morocco, we depart from Fes after breakfast and head to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the country’s capital. We will visit the key attractions in Rabat, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. After some free time for lunch, we drive to Casablanca, the economic hub of Morocco. Depending on your flight time, we may have the opportunity to visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport, marking the end of your tour.
