Itinerary

The 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour begins with an early pickup from either your accommodation or the airport in Fes. We then head south through Imouzzer, stopping to visit Ifrane, known for its cool climate, snowy winters, and alpine-style architecture—earning it the nickname "Switzerland of Morocco." Next, we drive to the cedar forest, home to the playful Barbary macaques. Feel free to interact with and feed these friendly monkeys as you explore the forest.

Afterward, we make our way to Midelt for lunch before continuing our journey toward the Sahara Desert. We’ll drive through the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River. By the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where we’ll switch to camels for a trek through the vast desert sands. A stop will be made on top of a high dune to watch a stunning sunset over the desert.

We then proceed to a luxurious desert camp, where you can enjoy traditional Berber drum music, dance around the campfire, and relax under a sky full of stars. Dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night in the desert camp, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Sahara.

Start the day early to catch the stunning sunrise in the heart of the desert. Afterward, enjoy some free time for breakfast before returning to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. Today, we dedicate our time to exploring the Merzouga region, which is filled with diverse and beautiful landscapes, from vast sand dunes and wild lakes to ancient mines, fossil sites, and lush oases—perfect for outdoor adventures.

Our journey begins with an off-road drive to visit an ancient eyeliner mine, followed by a stop to meet the nomads in their handmade woven tents. You'll have the chance to learn about their way of life while sipping traditional Berber tea. Next, we head to the village of Khamlia, where you’ll be treated to an energetic performance of Gnaoua music and dance. The people here trace their origins to sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger.

Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch at a local restaurant before taking a stroll through the palm grove. We then drive a short distance to visit the wild Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingos Lake. In the evening, we return to the hotel for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we leave the desert behind and head toward Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. This lively town is still a major trading hub, and its souk is especially vibrant on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring the Rissani Souk, we continue our journey to Erfoud, where we visit a fossilized marble workshop, showcasing the area's rich prehistoric heritage.

Next, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, heading to the breathtaking Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these gorges feature towering red cliff walls, making it a popular spot for rock climbers. Take some time to wander through the gorges and marvel at the stunning landscape. After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, we continue our drive to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades.

Along the way, we'll make stops at the famous "Monkey Fingers" rock formation and enjoy a panoramic view from a mountain spot overlooking the valley. In the evening, we’ll head to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

On the final day of your 4-day desert tour, we continue our journey to Kalaa Magouna to visit the beautiful Rose Valley, where the annual Rose Festival takes place in May. During the festival, locals showcase their rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics.

We then drive through the scenic palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, also known as the "Gateway to the Desert." Here, we'll visit the famous movie studios where blockbuster films like Gladiator, The Mummy, and Alexander were shot.

Next, we head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village that has also appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including Game of Thrones. After exploring the Kasbah, we continue our journey toward Marrakech, passing through the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make stops for lunch and to capture beautiful views and memorable photos.

Finally, we arrive in Marrakech, where we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable desert tour.
