Experience the best of Morocco in 10 days, starting in Marrakech and Essaouira. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and Ouarzazate. Explore the Dades Valley, Todra Gorges, and the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where you’ll ride camels, witness sunsets and sunrises, and spend a night in a desert camp.
Discover Rissani’s market, Erfoud’s fossils, and the Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane, with its cedar forests. Visit Fes and Meknes, two imperial cities, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. End your journey in the blue city of Chefchaouen and conclude the tour in Tangier.
The 10-day Morocco tour begins with a pickup from the Marrakech airport. You will have a brief tour of the city before being transferred to your accommodation. Overnight stay in a traditional riad.
After breakfast, we head west towards Essaouira. Along the way, we’ll make stops to see the Argan trees with goats and enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. Upon arrival in Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador, we will explore its key sites, including the fishing port, ancient ramparts with cannons, and the old medina. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
After breakfast, we return to Marrakech for a guided tour of the city’s highlights. As one of Morocco’s imperial cities, Marrakech boasts attractions like the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. We’ll stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco, enjoy free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fna Square, and visit the Koutoubia Mosque and Majorelle Garden. Afterward, you’ll have some free time to explore Jemaa El-Fna Square on your own. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
After breakfast, we depart from Marrakech early, driving through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains and across the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. We will make stops to enjoy panoramic views of the breathtaking landscapes. Our first stop will be the Kasbah of Telouat, followed by a visit to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortified village has featured in many films, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Afterward, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gate of the Desert.” Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, we begin by visiting the Atlas Studio, where famous films were made, followed by a stop at the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. We then drive southeast towards Skoura to explore the Amridil Kasbah, nestled among palm groves. Continuing on, we reach Rose Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival in May, where locals showcase their rose products. We then drive through the stunning Dades Valley, stopping to admire the dramatic Dades Gorges landscape. Next, we head to Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved out a spectacular red-cliff canyon. After some free time for lunch and a walk through the gorges, we continue our journey toward the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Upon arrival, we swap to camels and begin crossing the sandy dunes. A stop will be made for you to enjoy the magical sunset from the top of a high dune before we proceed to a desert luxury camp. Here, you’ll enjoy Berber drum music around a campfire beneath the star-filled sky. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Wake up early for a spectacular sunrise over the desert, followed by free time for breakfast. Then, return by camel to Merzouga where your driver will be waiting. Today is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region, a land of sand dunes, wild lakes, ancient mines, fossils, and lush oases, all perfect for outdoor activities. We begin by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then, we’ll visit local nomads in their handmade woven tents, where you’ll learn about their lifestyle and share a cup of Berber tea. Next, we head to the village of Khamlia to enjoy the unique Gnaoua music and dance performances, a cultural blend from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After some free time for lunch at a local restaurant, we take a stroll through the palm groves before driving a few kilometers to visit the wild Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingo Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, we leave the Sahara and head towards Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading hub, especially during its lively souks. After exploring the market, we continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops. We then drive along the Ziz River, stopping for panoramic views of the valley. After a break for lunch in Midelt, we head towards the Cedars Forest, home to the Barbary macaques – you can feed them while exploring. Next, we visit Ifrane, known for its alpine-style houses and cool climate, earning it the nickname "Switzerland of Morocco." In the evening, we continue to Fes, where we’ll drop you off at your accommodation.
After breakfast, we’ll pick you up to explore Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its cultural and religious heart. The day begins with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a walk through the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your local guide will take you to the famous Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate) and lead you through the narrow streets to visit key landmarks, including the Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world. Afterward, we’ll visit the Jewish quarter (Mellah), and then head to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of the Medina and Fes city. Return to your riad for the evening.
After breakfast, we drive to Meknes, another imperial city, where we’ll explore landmarks such as Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We’ll have some free time for lunch before heading to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the ruins and enjoy the well-preserved mosaics, columns, and archways. Afterward, we continue our journey through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, the famous "Blue City," nestled in the Rif Mountains. The city’s distinctive blue-painted buildings and alleyways make it a photographer's dream. Overnight in a local hotel.
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll have some free time to explore the charming blue streets of Chefchaouen. We’ll then drive through the Rif Mountains to Tangier airport for your departure. This marks the end of your 10-day Morocco tour.
